Chenab Rail Bridge: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Anji Bridge and the world’s tallest railway arch Chenab Bridge built on the Chenab River in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav were also present with him on this special occasion. The Prime Minister also flagged off the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express train.

Some pictures of the Prime Minister have also surfaced, in which he is seen carrying the tricolor on the Chenab Bridge. Earlier, the Prime Minister had inspected the world’s tallest Chenab Bridge built on the Chenab River. He also spoke to the officials in this regard. After the inspection, he also met Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Also, the Prime Minister also spoke to the workers associated with the USBRL project.
The Chenab Rail Bridge, located at a height of 359 meters from the river, is the world’s highest railway arch bridge. It is a 1,315 meter long steel arch bridge designed to withstand earthquakes and wind conditions. This bridge is important for better connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar.
Chenab Bridge and Anji Bridge are an important part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project, under which this bridge will connect the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India, reduce travel time to about 3 hours and promote trade and tourism in the region.
PM Modi reached Jammu and Kashmir after Operation Sindoor
