Booking of more than 2.40 lakh units within just 18 hours of launch in China has created a stir in the market. This figure proves that Xiaomi is now emerging as a big force in the world of EV as well.
Booking explosion: 2 lakh pre-orders in 3 minutes
The company got 2 lakh pre-orders in just 3 minutes of launch. Within 1 hour this figure reached 2.89 lakh. More than 2.40 lakh people have also confirmed their order.
Xiaomi had given three booking options to the customers. This included normal pre-order, non-refundable instant order, priority delivery (discontinued soon) booking options.
Xiaomi YU7 – Design and Performance
The styling of the Xiaomi YU7 is inspired by the SU7 sedan. It gives a glimpse of Porsche Macan and Ferrari Purosangue. Talking about the drive option, it has a single motor for rear-wheel drive and dual motor for all-wheel drive. Talking about its power output, this EV is capable of generating 288kW of power and 528Nm of torque.

Battery variants and range
Talking about battery pack option and range, it has a 96.3kWh battery (RWD) pack, which offers a range of 835 km. At the same time, the second battery pack option is of 96.3kWh (AWD Pro), which has a range of 760 km. At the same time, the third option is of 101.7kWh battery (AWD Max), which has a range of 770 km. This range competes with many premium brands of today.
Price and value for money
Its The price starts at 2,53,500 yuan (about Rs 30 lakh). It is about 10,000 yuan (about Rs 1,19,098) cheaper than the Tesla Model Y. YU7 has now become a big name in the mid-premium EV SUV segment.
Xiaomi’s global EV planning also confirmed
Xiaomi CEO William Lu said that the company plans to open 10,000 retail outlets outside China by 2029. It is clear from this that Xiaomi EVs will no longer be limited to China. Ford CEO Jim Farley has also driven the Xiaomi SU7 in the US and has praised its build quality and performance.
