Honda Upcoming Hybrid Cars In India: The demand for hybrid cars has increased rapidly in India in the last few years. Many car companies are now working on hybrid technology to create a balance between petrol-diesel and electric vehicles. Now Honda has also joined this race. At present, Honda has only one hybrid car City e:HEV in India, but the company is now preparing to bring even cheaper hybrid cars, whose starting price can be around Rs 15 lakh.
Honda has made a big announcement about its future plans in India. The company is going to launch a total of 5 new cars in the country by 2029, which will include hybrid SUV, new generation Honda City, sub-4 meter SUV and two electric cars. All these models will be based on Honda’s new PF2 modular platform, which supports all three powertrains of petrol, hybrid and EV.
2027 – Entry of new 7-seater hybrid SUV
Honda will introduce an all-new 7-seater SUV in 2027, which will be positioned above the current Honda Elevate. This SUV will be equipped with a strong hybrid system with a 1.5-liter petrol engine, which will put it at par with cars like Toyota Innova Hycross. This car will be based on Honda’s PF2 platform, which supports multi-energy.
Launch of 6th generation Honda City in 2028
In 2028, Honda will launch the sixth generation model of its popular model City. It will also include a strong hybrid powertrain with a completely new design, modern technology and better fuel efficiency. Apart from this, the option of regular petrol engine will also be given. Its production is likely to start from May 2028.
New sub-4 meter SUV in 2029
Honda will launch a new sub-compact SUV in 2029, which will be completely designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian customers. It will also be built on the PF2 platform and can include a strong hybrid system with a 1.5 liter petrol engine. It can compete with cars like Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza.
EV Elevate will be the first electric car
Honda will launch its first electric car in 2026 as EV Elevate. This car will be based on the existing Honda Elevate, but it will have a fully battery electric powertrain. The company is planning to localize it on a large scale in India itself, due to which its price can be between Rs 15 to 18 lakh.
Let us tell you that after EV Elevate, Honda will launch another electric SUV by 2029, which will be positioned below EV Elevate. This new EV will also be based on the PF2 platform and its price can be between Rs 12 to 14 lakh. The focus of this model will be on urban customers and young buyers.
What can be the price?
The estimated price of Honda’s hybrid cars can start from Rs 15 lakh and go up to Rs 22 lakh, while the price of EV Elevate can be around Rs 18 lakh. The price of small EV can be kept between Rs 12-14 lakh. These cars can compete directly with cars like Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Tata Nexon EV and Hyundai Creta EV.
