New Skoda Superb Sedan: Skoda India has recently teased a new premium sedan in the Indian market with Slavia, which is believed to be the new generation of Skoda Superb.
Actually, this car will enter the Indian roads as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). That is, it will be fully prepared and imported from abroad.
Skoda Superb Design
The new Skoda Superb is now going to come with a more premium and modern design than ever before. Its exterior look is based on the new Kodiaq SUV, which includes sharp LED headlamps and taillamps, large glossy grille, chrome accents and refined aerodynamic body design. The interior also has more legroom and luxury touch, making this sedan a better option in segments like Toyota Camry Hybrid.
New Skoda Superb Engine options
Talking about the engine option, Skoda can re-launch the diesel engine in India for the first time as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) unit. This will be a big change as the company discontinued the diesel engine in India many years ago. However, it will also get the same 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine, which is present in the new Kodiaq. If the diesel version comes, it can become the only non-hybrid diesel option in the segment.
Technology and safety
The new Superb will be completely high-tech in terms of technology and safety. It can be given features like ADAS, 360 degree camera, electric seats, sunroof, digital cockpit, large touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and multi-zone climate control. Being an international model, Skoda may have to make some changes according to India. Since the Superb will come as a CBU unit, it could be priced around Rs 45–50 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price could be higher than the Toyota Camry.
When Skoda Superb will be launched in India?
Talking about the launch timeline, this sedan can be launched in India in late 2025 or early 2026. Its main competition will be from the Toyota Camry and if it returns, then the Honda Accord. The new Skoda Superb will make its place as the flagship premium sedan in Skoda India’s portfolio and will re-establish the strong identity of the brand.
