The new Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid has not changed much in appearance, but there has been a major update in its engine and technology. Toyota has installed a system in it that gives more power and better mileage. The company will currently launch this cool SUV in Australia, but in the coming time it will be launched in other countries as well, which may include India.
The engine is more powerful than diesel
The biggest thing is that it has a more powerful hybrid 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 petrol engine. An electric motor and battery are also connected to this engine. This engine can generate 451 bhp of power and 790 Nm of torque. It is much more powerful than the old 3.3-liter diesel engine (304 bhp, 700 Nm). Also, the power delivery is smoother. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. There is also a 4WD system, which is a specialty of every Land Cruiser.
Benefits of hybrid engine
This is the same hybrid system that is also given in Lexus LX 700h. Because it is also built on the same platform as Land Cruiser 300. This hybrid system does not provide completely electric driving, but helps in increasing the power of the engine. Due to this, performance improves. Mileage increases. Carbon dioxide emissions are reduced. Although the official mileage figures have not been released yet, it is expected to be better than the diesel version.
Will Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid come to India?
The design of the cabin is also almost the same, but some updates have been made. Now a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is available as standard. Hybrid-specific information is visible in the digital instrument cluster. Such as battery level, power flow etc. So far Toyota has not confirmed the launch of Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid in India. But considering the strict rules on diesel vehicles in India and the ban on diesel cars in areas like Delhi-NCR after 10 years, Toyota can bring a hybrid version.
