Maruti Suzuki is planning to launch its new mid-size SUV Escudo in the Indian market within the next 2 to 3 months. This model has been developed by the company internally under the codename Y17. Escudo will be positioned in the price segment between Brezza and Grand Vitara, making it a new option for mid-range SUV buyers.
It is likely that it will be given a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, which will be equipped with mild hybrid technology. This SUV has been seen on Indian roads several times during testing, from which its size and design can be guessed.

Tata Motors is preparing to launch its iconic SUV Sierra in a new avatar in the Indian market later this year. Renault’s Duster is considered to be the first revolutionary SUV in the Indian mid-size SUV segment, which gave a new identity to this category. Now the company is preparing to launch this SUV again in the Indian market in 2026 with a new design and platform. The company can offer many engine options in the new Duster, including 1.0 liter petrol engine, 1.3 liter turbo petrol engine and 1.6 liter petrol-hybrid unit. This new generation Duster is being prepared on Dacia’s new global platform.

Maruti Escudo is likely to be launched between August to September 2025. At the same time, the company can launch Tata Sierra during the festive season, i.e. between October to December 2025. Customers will have to wait a little longer for the new Renault Duster, as its launch is scheduled in the first half of 2026.
