New Skoda Superb will be launched in India soon, will the diesel engine return again?

Skoda Superb India: Skoda is going to launch the new generation Superb in India soon. Let’s find out if the diesel engine will return in this new sedan and what special features will be available.

New Skoda Superb Sedan: Skoda India has recently teased a new premium sedan in the Indian market with Slavia, which is believed to be the new generation of Skoda Superb.

Actually, this car will enter the Indian roads as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). That is, it will be fully prepared and imported from abroad.

Skoda Superb Design

The new Skoda Superb is now going to come with a more premium and modern design than ever before. Its exterior look is based on the new Kodiaq SUV, which includes sharp LED headlamps and taillamps, large glossy grille, chrome accents and refined aerodynamic body design. The interior also has more legroom and luxury touch, making this sedan a better option in segments like Toyota Camry Hybrid.

New Skoda Superb Engine options

Talking about the engine option, Skoda can re-launch the diesel engine in India for the first time as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) unit. This will be a big change as the company discontinued the diesel engine in India many years ago. However, it will also get the same 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine, which is present in the new Kodiaq. If the diesel version comes, it can become the only non-hybrid diesel option in the segment.

Technology and safety

The new Superb will be completely high-tech in terms of technology and safety. It can be given features like ADAS, 360 degree camera, electric seats, sunroof, digital cockpit, large touchscreen, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and multi-zone climate control. Being an international model, Skoda may have to make some changes according to India. Since the Superb will come as a CBU unit, it could be priced around Rs 45–50 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price could be higher than the Toyota Camry.

When Skoda Superb will be launched in India?

Talking about the launch timeline, this sedan can be launched in India in late 2025 or early 2026. Its main competition will be from the Toyota Camry and if it returns, then the Honda Accord. The new Skoda Superb will make its place as the flagship premium sedan in Skoda India’s portfolio and will re-establish the strong identity of the brand.

This portfolio will be further expanded to address emerging sub-segments in fiscal year 2026,” Sharma said.

Here we will tell you about the top 5 SUVs to be launched in India, which you should wait for.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid

In 2023, when Maruti Suzuki launched the Fronx, it became the subject of many jokes due to its unique name. By 2025, the Fronx became one of the top SUVs in the market and Maruti Suzuki laughed all the way to the bank. This made it clear that ‘what’s in a name?’ Maruti Suzuki is working on a hybrid version of the Fronx, which will be the most affordable hybrid vehicle in the Indian market after launch.

Tata Punch Facelift

Tata Motors is working on giving the internal combustion engine of the Punch a much-needed facelift. In terms of design, it will be inspired by its EV version. Based on the spy images, the 2025 Punch is expected to have the same split headlight design as the electric SUV. It may get a slight touch up job with sleek connected LED DRLs at the front, new alloy wheels and redesigned taillights at the rear.

Next-gen Hyundai Venue

The design of the next-gen Hyundai Venue takes inspiration from the current Creta, incorporating many of its signature styling elements. The split headlight design will feature cube-shaped LED headlights and a parametric grille. Based on recent spy pictures, the Venue will retain its silhouette but will come with new alloy wheels.

Mahindra 3X0

The 3X0 is Mahindra’s fourth best-selling SUV and sold 7,952 units in May 2025. The rival to the Tata Nexon EV is expected to borrow the two battery packs available from the XUV400 EV. The entry-level 3XO EV will be powered by a 34.5 kWh and the top model by a 39.4 kWh battery unit. It will be interesting to see if Mahindra will price the 3XO EV aggressively and try to undercut the Nexon EV.

Renault Kiger

Renault India currently sells three vehicles – the Kwid, Triber and Kiger. The flagship Kiger is the compact SUV in its portfolio, which will get a facelift this year. The 2025 Kiger has been caught doing test runs and based on those spy images, it will get a nip-and-tuck job with minor updates. The front fascia and split headlamps will be redesigned with some new minor styling elements. Some changes are expected at the rear as well, but the C-shaped taillights will remain intact.

This electric SUV has sold like a bomb, over 4,000 people have bought it so far; Know what is so special about this premium EV?

Hyundai Creta Electric has crossed the 4,000 unit sales mark. The company launched this SUV just a few days ago. Let’s know its details in detail.

Hyundai has further strengthened its foothold in the Indian electric car market. Hyundai India has claimed that more than 4,000 units of the Creta Electric SUV have been sold so far. However, this figure is less than that of the Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor EV. Still, this is an important milestone for Hyundai. Especially at a time when Indian customers are moving rapidly towards EV. Let’s know its details in detail.

Creta EV vs Nexon EV and MG Windsor

The total sales of Hyundai Creta Electric are more than 4,000 units so far. Tata Nexon EV sells around 3,000 and 4,000 units every month.

MG Windsor EV

MG Windsor EV is becoming India’s best-selling EV with a starting price of 9.99 lakhs, selling 3,000-4,000 units every month.

Sales of Hyundai Creta EV are far behind EVs like Nexon and Windsor, a major reason for which is believed to be its price. The Creta EV is priced between 17.99 lakhs and 24.37 lakhs (ex-showroom), which may seem far from value-for-money to the common Indian buyer.

What is special about Hyundai Creta Electric?

Hyundai Creta Electric is a fully electric version of the Creta SUV, which follows the same design philosophy as seen in its petrol-diesel models. However, EV specific changes have also been made in it.

Battery and range

It has a battery pack of 42kWh and 51.4 kWh. Talking about its range, the range of this EV is 390 km to 473 km (depending on the charging cycle).

Top features

Talking about its top features, it has a smart panoramic sunroof (voice-enabled), Bose’s 8-speaker premium sound system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, it has features like dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, digital key and in-car payment system. It has V2L and V2V technology (with this you can charge another EV or run electric gadgets).

Did the price become a big obstacle?

Where Tata Nexon EV and MG Windsor EV are attracting more customers with low price and good range. At the same time, the price of Hyundai Creta EV puts it in the premium segment.

Hyundai Creta Electric is a premium EV SUV, which is full of style, performance and high-tech features. Although its price makes it a bit far from the common customer, but it is a great option for feature lovers and those who like the Hyundai brand. If you want a stylish, smart and future ready EV SUV, and have a high budget, then definitely consider the Creta EV.
