Honda Scoopy Scooter 2025 India: This is Honda’s next launch in India, with the Honda Scoopy getting a patent for a new ICE scooter.
Honda Scoopy India: Honda is well aware of the increasing competition in the two-wheeler segment and has been filing patents for various vehicles that may be launched in the future for several years. While these brands have mostly filed patents for scooters for IPR purposes, mostly to reserve moniker names, in some cases, these patents are eventually released. Following a similar order, Honda has recently filed a new patent for an updated version of the Honda Scoopy.
Honda Scoopy International Variant
The Scoopy was first patented in 2022, and Honda has now patented the 2025 iteration, which will feature a refreshed new font fascia and a circular LED headlight with DRL. The scooter will now be equipped with a new full LCD instrument cluster and an eco indicator, fuel consumption and service indicator. The foreign variant is powered by a 109.5 cc air-cooled engine that produces close to 9 Hp and 9.2 Nm of peak torque mated to a CVT transmission.
The same engine powers the smaller Duo and Activa in India. Another model sold abroad, but patented in India, is powered by the same engine. It is called the Beat abroad.
According to a report by Autocar, Honda has patented most of its global products in India only for IPR purposes and will never be launched here. These include the NPF125, CB190TR and CG160, as well as several international products. Such practices are often done to protect and preserve the name and design of the products, and it is highly unlikely that the Scoopy will be launched in India. The Scoopy is also sold in Southeast Asian markets such as Indonesia and the Philippines.
