Honda Upcoming SUVs: Despite not launching any new model in 2025 so far, Honda Cars India is now in full preparation and is going to introduce two new SUVs in the Indian market soon.
One of these will be a fully electric 5-seater mid-size SUV and the other will be a premium 7-seater ICE SUV, which will be based on the company’s new PF2 architecture. There is a lot of discussion in the auto industry about both the models and it is expected that these vehicles will compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti eVX, Mahindra BE.6 and Toyota Innova HyCross in their segment.
Honda Electric 5-Seater SUV
Honda’s upcoming electric 5-seater SUV can hit the Indian roads within the next 9 to 12 months. This SUV will be offered in a mid-size 5-seater layout and is being specially designed keeping in mind the needs of Indian customers. It is expected to compete directly with electric SUVs like the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti e-Vitara, and Mahindra BE.6.
Powertrain and Features
This SUV can be offered with modern features like fully electric powertrain, digital instrument cluster, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features, and fast charging support. In terms of range, this electric SUV can be capable of running around 400 to 500 kilometers on a single charge, making it a better option for both long drives and urban use. Honda has already confirmed that it is preparing a new EV platform for India.
Honda 7-seater SUV
Honda’s second big launch will be an all-new 7-seater SUV, which the company plans to introduce in the Indian market by the end of 2027. The SUV will be available in a 3-row layout and will be based on Honda’s new PF2 platform. This SUV is being jointly designed and developed by Honda’s R&D teams in Japan and Thailand, which will bring international level quality in its design and performance.
Engine Specifications
Talking about the engine specifications, it can be given a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder petrol engine, which will be tuned for maximum efficiency. This SUV can potentially be given many modern options like automatic transmission, panoramic sunroof, ADAS technology, and connected car features.
Launch Timeline
Honda’s upcoming electric SUV is likely to be launched in the Indian market by the end of 2025. This electric SUV can compete directly with electric vehicles like Hyundai Creta EV and Mahindra BE.6.
