Hyundai’s Hybrid SUVs
Hyundai, which is planning to establish a strong foothold in the Indian automobile market, is set to expand its SUV portfolio. As part of this, it is said that it has decided to introduce the next-generation edition of the Greta in a hybrid edition. At the same time, reports suggest that the company is also actively working on the production of a premium SUV with 3-row seating. It is likely to be positioned above the Alcazar car model. The Palisade car, which is Hyundai’s flagship model internationally, may also be brought to the Indian market with a hybrid system. These three car models are described below.
7-seater Hyundai Ni1i SUV
Hyundai is reportedly developing an all-new SUV to fill the gap between its Alcazar and Tucson models. Although the car is expected to be launched in 2027, no official announcement has been made. The car is planned to be assembled at Hyundai’s plant in Maharashtra. Work has already begun at the plant to produce the next-generation Venue by the end of this year. If the work is completed as planned, the Ni1i SUV will be the second SUV to be built at the plant.
If the reports are true, the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine currently used in Hyundai will be revised and a hybrid system may be included in the new car. Although no official information has been released, automobile market sources suggest that the next-generation Greta and Seltos car models may also feature similar powerful petrol hybrid systems.
Hyundai’s next-generation Greta
Hyundai is currently in full swing to launch the second-generation Venue car model by the end of this year. In parallel, as mentioned above, work is also underway for a premium SUV with three rows of seats. If we analyze the deeper information, it is said that work has also begun on the next-generation Greta car model. Named SX3, this car is likely to see a complete change by 2027. It is likely to have extensive revisions inside and out. Meanwhile, along with the basic updates, Hyundai has also started work on the mid-life update of the Greta electric edition.
Hyundai Palisade Hybrid
Hyundai’s new-generation hybrid powertrain is already being used in the company’s flagship car model, the Palisade SUV. According to the information released, this car may be launched in India in 2028. Specifically, this car may be localized and sold at a price of Rs. 50 lakh. It is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine with electric assistance, producing 334 horsepower and 460Nm of torque. The Palisade car model is said to provide a maximum mileage of 14 km per liter.
