Driving License: Renew your driver’s license easily! Online and offline methods, required documents, fees, and instructions for checking status.

Driving License Renewal: To drive a car, bike or any other vehicle, you must have a driving license. It is not just an identity card, but a legal permit issued by the government to drive on the road. Your driving license is valid for a limited period only. After that, you need to renew it.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has simplified the driving license renewal process across India. You can easily renew your driving license through online and offline modes.

When should you renew your driving license?

In India, a driving license for personal vehicles is generally valid for 20 years or till the licensee reaches the age of 50 years (whichever comes first). The validity period of a license for commercial vehicles is generally 3-5 years. It needs to be renewed before the validity period of the license expires.
