Volkswagen Tera Launch Date in India: Volkswagen Terra is a new subcompact crossover SUV, which can be launched in India later this year. It has been designed to compete with models like Skoda Qilaq, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue. Its price is expected to be between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.
After the success of Skoda Qilaq in India, the company’s German partner company Volkswagen can also launch a car in this segment. Skoda entered the sub-4 meter SUV segment with Qilaq last year. Now Volkswagen can also launch a car like Qilaq, Terra. Terra has recently been given a 5-star safety rating by Latin NCAP in the crash test. This proves that Terra is a strong car.
When will Terra come to India?
The company has not yet made any announcement regarding the launch of Terra in India, but a formal announcement can be made in this regard in the next few months. However, given the success of Skoda Kalyak, Volkswagen can now also think of entering this sub-compact SUV segment. If Terra is launched in India, it will compete with cars like Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue.
How strong is the car
Made in Brazil Volkswagen Terra has performed well in the Latin NCAP crash test. It has scored 89.88% in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 87.25% in Child Occupant Protection (COP), 75.77% in protection of pedestrians and vulnerable road users, and 84.76% in Safety Assist. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the head, neck and knees of both the driver and the passenger got good protection. The car has got a good rating in terms of driver safety.
Safety features of the car
The compact SUV Volkswagen Terra has been specially designed keeping in mind the urban and young customers. This vehicle is based on the MQB A0 platform, which is known for its strength and better driving experience. Terra comes with state-of-the-art features like six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), automatic emergency braking (AEB) as standard. For the safety of children, it also has an ISOFIX child seat mounting system.
