Thar.e Vision T Concept: The information so far regarding Mahindra’s Vision T concept, the electric edition of the Thar car, is listed below.

Mahindra’s Vision T Concept

Mahindra has given the first teaser of its upcoming Vision T Concept. The company has scheduled a grand event in Mumbai on August 15. Every year, during Independence Day, Mahindra usually makes announcements about its future plans, new concepts, and technology journeys at such an event.

Vision T Concept: INGLO P1 Platform

That is how the Vision T concept will be showcased this year. In the teaser released recently, the overall design takes the boxy architecture of the electric Thar forward. It is noteworthy that this electric 5-door concept was showcased in 2023. At launch, it has already been confirmed that the Thar.e will sit on a customized edition of Mahindra’s INGLO P1 platform. This platform is specifically designed for off-road-oriented EVs.

Vision T Concept: Design

The car’s architecture features a longer wheelbase and raised ground clearance compared to conventional electric crossovers. Most manufacturers in the international market use the conventional “body on frame” setup for their rugged electric models. However, Mahindra has taken a completely new approach. However, it remains to be seen how it will fare.

Based on the teaser, the Vision T Concept has received several design improvements from the electric-based Thar concept. It is also considered a preview of the design of Mahindra’s future electric vehicles. Along with the Vision T concept, Mahindra is also planning to showcase 4 more concepts and a new platform at the event, dubbed Freedom NU.

New vehicles to be unveiled?

The event in Mumbai is expected to showcase both petrol and electric vehicles, including the new-generation Bolero. It is worth noting that Mahindra is also preparing the facelifted editions of the XUV 700 and the 3-door Thar. Both these cars have been spotted on the road several times.

In addition, electric compact SUVs XUV 3X0 and XUV.e8-based XEV 7e are also in the works. All the above-mentioned 5 car models are likely to be showcased at the event. In addition, Mahindra is also exploring hybrid powertrain options for its premium car models. The company is expected to make an announcement in this regard.
