Renault Duster EV
Dacia to launch electric version of its popular Duster SUV

Renault Duster EV: The Duster is set to get a fully electric powertrain option. Dacia CEO Denis Le Vot said that the Renault Duster EV sold under the Dacia brand in European markets will arrive in time. His statement matches with an April report.

Renault Duster EV: Renault is planning to launch its new Duster in the Indian market. This SUV is already being sold in the global market. Not only this, Duster will also be launched in electric version along with ICE. According to a report by Autocar UK, Duster is going to get a fully electric powertrain option. Dacia CEO Denis Le Vot said that the Renault Duster EV sold under the Dacia brand in European markets “will come in time”. His statement coincides with the April report.

Dacia to launch electric version of its popular Duster SUV

ICE cars are to be phased out in the UK and European markets by 2035, so Dacia is looking to implement an electric line-up. At the moment, the brand’s only electric car is the Spring EV, but there are plans to have EV powertrain options for all models including the Bigster. The Duster EV will use the same EV-specific CMF-BEV platform, which is the basis of the Renault 5 and 4 crossovers. This architecture, which is essentially an EV-adapted version of the current, petrol-powered Duster’s CMF-B platform, will underpin all upcoming electric cars from Dacia.

All existing cars using the CMF-BEV platform are powered by the front axle, so there was uncertainty over whether the architecture could accommodate a second motor at the rear. However, Renault recently revealed a 4×4 concept version – believed to be a preview of a production version – that adds an powered rear axle to enhance the crossover’s off-roading capabilities. The Duster will be the second Dacia model from its current line-up to be converted into an EV. The first will be the Sandero hatchback, which will get an EV option with the next-gen model coming in 2027.

New-gen Renault Duster features

The new Renault Duster features some styling and feature changes compared to the Dacia Duster, especially the front fascia. For example, the Renault Duster uses an original radiator grille. The rhombus-shaped logo has been replaced with the ‘RENAULT’ text in bold. Dimension-wise, both the Dacia Duster and Renault Duster are quite similar. The Renault Duster measures 4,343mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,658mm. The ground clearance of the Dacia and Renault versions ranges from 209 to 217mm.

Toyota Aqua Hybrid: 35.8 kmpl mileage, know the launch date

Toyota Aqua Hybrid: Toyota’s upcoming hybrid hatchback, the Toyota Aqua Hybrid, has been spotted testing on Indian roads and has garnered attention for its impressive mileage figures.

In today’s era, fuel efficiency is one of the top priorities for car buyers in India. Understanding this growing demand, auto manufacturers are now focusing more on hybrid technology.

Toyota Aqua Hybrid India

Recently, Toyota’s upcoming hybrid hatchback, the Toyota Aqua Hybrid, was spotted testing on Indian roads. Its impressive mileage figures revealed during the test caught everyone’s attention.

Toyota Aqua hybrid hatchback testing in India

Toyota Aqua Hybrid Mileage

The trend towards fuel-efficient vehicles is on the rise, and Toyota seems set to lead the way. The Toyota Aqua Hybrid, which has been spotted on road tests in India, is likely to redefine expectations when it comes to fuel economy.

The model is already very popular in Japan and some international markets under the name Prius C, and now it seems that the company is preparing it for the Indian market.

The Toyota Aqua Hybrid is based on Toyota’s TNGA-B platform, the same architecture used for cars like the Yaris and Sienta. It is a compact hatchback designed to offer city-friendly dimensions without compromising on performance.

The car was first launched in Japan in 2021, and now its arrival in India seems imminent, especially after being spotted on test drives several times. Under the hood, the Toyota Aqua Hybrid is expected to feature a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid engine mated to two electric motors.

Toyota Aqua Hybrid Engine, Power and Mileage

The front electric motor produces 80 bhp and 141 Nm of torque, while the rear motor available in the E-Four variant produces 64 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. Combined, the system delivers a total power output of 116 bhp. This ensures both efficiency and performance.

Truly standout mileage – According to Toyota’s official global website, the Aqua Hybrid can deliver up to 35.8 km per litre. This is a figure that can shake the sales of competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Hybrid and other similar models.

World’s first bipolar nickel-hydrogen battery

Adding to its uniqueness, the Aqua Hybrid is the world’s first production car to feature a bipolar nickel-hydrogen battery. This advanced battery can not only power the car but can also be used to power home electronics with the help of a 100V/1500W power outlet.

This makes it a versatile option for buyers looking for technology-based mobility solutions. As of now, Toyota has not officially announced a launch date or detailed specifications for the Indian market. However, the fact that the vehicle has been tested on Indian roads clearly indicates that the company is gearing up to introduce this high-mileage hybrid car to Indian customers very soon.
